PLC Programmer (Siemens / Sinumerik)

Our client is seeking an experienced PLC Programmer with strong Siemens and SINUMERIK CNC knowledge to support the setup, programming, and start-up of automated coil handling and metal processing systems in the wire and cable industry. 

Location: Germany

Duration: 4–5 months contract (high potential for extension)

Start Date: January

Sector: Industrial Automation / Wire & Cable Manufacturing

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Program, test, and commission Siemens PLCs (S7/TIA Portal) and SINUMERIK CNC systems for coil handling and metal processing lines.

Integrate PLC/CNC systems with conveyors, drives, HMIs, and safety systems.

Conduct FAT/SAT, system validation, and on-site troubleshooting.

Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams during installation and start-up phases.

 

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

Proven experience in PLC programming and commissioning (Siemens S7, TIA Portal).

Hands-on experience with SINUMERIK setup, parameterization, and diagnostics.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, etc.).

Understanding of machine safety standards and integration with automation systems.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
