Freelance Construction Manager · Frankfurt · On Site

We are currently representing a client that is looking for a freelance construction manager on a large-scale lithium battery project. The client is the EPC contractor on this project. This is a multiphase project with the first phase taking place in Frankfurt.

The project combines innovative geothermal technology with lithium extraction to produce low-carbon lithium for use in batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy storage.

They are seeking a Freelance Construction Manager to lead and oversee the construction of the infrastructure and facilities needed to bring this ambitious vision to life.

 

Contract: 12 months

Location: Frankfurt

Start date: January 2026

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage the construction of all project facilities, including geothermal plants, lithium extraction units, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring all phases are completed on time and within budget.
  • Site Management: Supervise and coordinate site preparation, earthworks, civil engineering, electrical installations, and specialized equipment for geothermal energy and lithium extraction.
  • Schedule & Budget Oversight: Develop detailed project schedules and financial plans. Monitor progress and costs and resolve any issues that may affect timelines or budgets.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in construction management, particularly on large-scale industrial or energy-related projects, including geothermal or lithium extraction facilities.
  • Construction Expertise: Strong knowledge of civil engineering, site development, and the specific technical requirements of geothermal energy plants, lithium extraction, and associated infrastructure.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams of contractors, engineers, and specialists in the successful execution of large, complex construction projects.
  • Project Management: Experience using construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) to track schedules, budgets, and quality control.
