Mechanical Service & Maintenance Engineer | Freelance | Data Centre Cooling | Netherlands

 

We’re partnering with a state-of-the-art cooling infrastructure company that is driving innovation on some of the largest and most advanced data center projects across the Netherlands. They are seeking experienced Mechanical Service & Maintenance Engineers focusing on hydraulic and refrigeration systems, requiring strong technical expertise and compliance with industry standards. Holding an F-Gas Category 1 Refrigeration Certificate is essential.

 

Essential Requirements

  • F-Gas Category 1 Refrigeration Certificate (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in mechanical service and maintenance within data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic cooling systems and refrigeration principles.
  • Ability to work on-site, 5 days per week (remote work not available).
  • Familiarity with safety standards and environmental compliance for cooling systems.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on hydraulic and refrigeration cooling systems in data centres.
  • Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct system performance checks, pressure testing, and leak detection for refrigeration circuits.
  • Collaborate with electrical and BMS teams to maintain seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and regulatory compliance reports.

Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
