Senior Project Lead | BESS Projects | Munich | Hybrid

We are supporting a leading European energy storage provider, driving innovation and sustainability across the continent. They deliver cutting-edge solutions that store and intelligently manage energy - helping stabilise grids, integrate renewables, and accelerate Europe’s journey to net zero.

As they expand, they’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Lead to take ownership of the contracting phase for large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Germany. This is a critical role where you’ll guide projects to Financial Close and ensure seamless execution of key agreements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the contracting phase of BESS projects, driving them to Financial Close.
  • Manage cross-functional teams in a matrix setup and coordinate all project agreements.
  • Interface with internal teams (Development, Procurement, Origination, Financing) and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and guide your team through complex project phases.

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in project management within energy, infrastructure, or large-scale projects.
  • Strong expertise in managing complex contracts and achieving Financial Close.
  • Experience overseeing development phases (grid connection, permitting, stakeholder engagement).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple interfaces (Permit, Procurement, Offtake, Financing, Land Lease).
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Resilient under pressure with excellent organisational skills.

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
