g2 Recruitment are looking for a DCS Commissioning Engineer to join a global engineering firm ASAP

1. SCADA Systems (Core)
- Strong hands-on experience configuring, integrating, and maintaining SCADA systems for electrical substations.
- In-depth knowledge of SCADA architecture, communication networks, and protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, Modbus TCP/IP, etc.).
- Ability to design and implement HMI/GUI in COPA-DATA Zenon — including mimic diagrams, alarm/event handling, trending, and reporting.
2. Zenon Software (Essential)
- Proven project experience with Zenon (by COPA-DATA), ideally in a substation automation environment.
- Configuration of Zenon for:
- Data acquisition from RTUs, IEDs, and PLCs
- Alarm and event configuration
- Sequence of events (SOE) management
- Integration of IEC 61850-compliant devices
- Familiar with Zenon Engineering Studio and Runtime environment.
3. Substation Automation Systems (SAS)
- Solid understanding of substation control systems, IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices), and RTUs (Remote Terminal Units).
- Experience in system integration, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
- Familiar with GE D25, C264, or similar controllers (preferred).
4. FAT / SAT Experience
- Experience leading or supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT):
- Developing and executing FAT/SAT procedures.
- Testing communication interfaces (SCADA <-> IEDs/RTUs).
- Troubleshooting network and data exchange issues.
- Verifying alarms, events, interlocks, and control logic.
- Experience documenting test results and managing punch lists through to resolution.
5. Electrical & Substation Knowledge
- Understanding of substation layouts, protection schemes, switchgear, and bus configurations.
- Knowledge of single line diagrams (SLDs) and how they translate into SCADA/HMI.
- Awareness of safety procedures and grid operation standards (IEC/IEEE).
6. Professional Background
- Typically an Electrical / Control & Instrumentation Engineer with experience in substation automation or SCADA engineering.
- Experience working with utilities, EPCs, or OEMs in the T&D or power grid sectors.
- Fluent English is a must
- Driver licence valid in Germany is a must
- Fluent German nice to have.
7. Bonus Skills (Desirable)
- Experience with GE Grid Solutions systems or GE RTUs/IEDs.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity for OT systems.
- Familiarity with other SCADA platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC OA, Schneider EcoStruxure, ABB MicroSCADA).
