Job Title: Electrical Project Manager

Rate: Competitive, based on experience €80 - €120 (Hourly)

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the execution of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). You will be responsible for maintaining quality, safety, and compliance standards, while keeping the project on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project execution for utility-scale BESS installation, ensuring compliance with VDE standards.
  • Manage subcontractors and site teams for HV/LV electrical systems (cables, switchgear, transformers).
  • Coordinate daily site activities, monitor progress, and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee commissioning and handover, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Interface with stakeholders including EPC contractors, grid operators, and internal teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments, maintain project documentation, and report regularly to senior management.

Requirements

  • EU-registered freelancer with valid work rights in Germany.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in BESS or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of German electrical standards (VDE).
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Ability to work on-site most of the time.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
