Hydropower MIV Commissioning Engineer · On-site

g2 Recruitment are currently recruiting for project in Wales we are looking for a commissioning engineer for the main inlet valves (hydro power station).

 

Project:

Hydro Power Station

3rd stage of modernization project (U3 and U4)

 

Tasks:

Dry commissioning of MIVs (takeover from installation, power up of cubicle, signal testing, filling of systems, first pressurizing of HPU, sub logic testing of HPU and auxiliary systems, opening and closing time adjustment of MIV, first movement of MIV, Seal adjustment, friction band measurement etc. etc.)

 

Start: 01.02.2026

Duration: 8 weeks with possible extension

Location: Wales – Ffestiniog power station

56h/week (10hours per day and 6 hours Saturday)

Medical requirements: No specific requirements

Accommodation: Provided or self-organized (compensated)

Transport: Self-organised (compensated)

Payrolling: Ideally via agency

 

Daily rate shall be in the usual range for such a position. Please include in the information for the candidates. The daily rate will be a criteria for selection should there be more than one candidate.

 

Must have:

Experience: Must have hands on experience with commissioning of main inlet valves in a hydro power station. This means candidate must have worked for the OEM/contractor.

English language: Fluent

 

Beneficial:

Experience in refurbishment projects.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
