Role: Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Technician

 

Role Overview

A major international manufacturer is seeking a versatile Maintenance Technician to support operations at their production site in Puurs. This position focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment in a non‑clean‑room environment. The ideal candidate has experience in electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or both, and enjoys hands‑on technical work in a dynamic production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to reduce downtime
  • Maintain motors, pumps, conveyors, valves, sensors, actuators, and other industrial components
  • Carry out electrical tasks such as wiring, component replacement, and equipment testing
  • Execute mechanical tasks including alignment, lubrication, assembly, and part replacement
  • Support equipment changeovers and general maintenance activities
  • Ensure all work follows site safety procedures and internal standards
  • Document maintenance tasks accurately in the maintenance system
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and technical teams to resolve issues

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, Electrical Technician, Mechanical Technician, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of industrial equipment and maintenance processes
  • Hands‑on troubleshooting experience (electrical, mechanical, or both)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive, hands‑on approach
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team

Preferred Certifications

  • BA4/BA5 electrical certification
  • VCA or VCA‑VOL safety certification
  • Additional mechanical or electrical training is an advantage

Contract Details

Duration: 6 months (high chance of extension)

Hours: Full‑time

Start: Immediate or negotiable

Location: Puurs, Belgium
