Safety Engineer · On-site
The functional safety engineer will support nuclear power plant activities during the pre-planning phase, followed by design and cutting, dismantling execution, and final documentation and compliance stages. The role is highly safety-critical and requires direct work inside nuclear facilities.

Location: Antwerp, Belgium 100% onsite. No remote working will be considered
Rate: €Competitive
Contract Duration: 6 Months with the possibility of extension
Language Requirements
- French – Fluent (spoken, written, and reading) essential
- Dutch / Flemish – Fluent (spoken, written, and reading) essential
- English – Desirable but not essential
Key Responsibilities
- Perform onsite safety inspections within nuclear power plants
- Ensure compliance with radiation protection requirements
- Verify reactor safety systems are functioning as designed, including:
- Cooling systems
- Containment systems
- Reactor shutdown systems
- Support functional and nuclear safety activities in line with regulatory standards
- Prepare and review technical and safety documentation during the pre-planning phase
- Contribute to subsequent project phases:
- Design and cutting preparation
- Dismantling execution
- Final technical documentation and client compliance
- Ensure adherence to all client, regulatory, and nuclear safety requirements
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working within the nuclear power plant industry
- Proven experience working inside nuclear facilities
- Strong background in nuclear safety, radiation protection, or functional safety
- Prior experience on Belgian nuclear power plants is strongly preferred
- Completion of required nuclear medical and site safety training (Belgian standards preferred)
