Senior Electrical Engineer · On-site

Electrical Engineer | BESS Project | Hesse, Germany

We’re partnering with a global leader in renewable energy and storage solutions to deliver cutting-edge projects that support Germany’s clean energy transition.

This role focuses on electrical engineering for grid-connected renewable systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant designs.

Location: Hesse, Germany

Contract: 6-month initial term (extension possible)

Start Date: Immediate (subject to permitting and site readiness)

Languages: English required; German preferred but not essential

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review electrical systems for renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS).
  • Ensure compliance with grid codes, safety standards, and technical specifications.
  • Support procurement and installation of electrical components (switchgear, transformers, cabling).
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and grid operators to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in power systems, grid integration, and electrical design for energy projects.
  • Knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, SCADA, and protection schemes.
  • Familiarity with IEC standards and German grid regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills; fluent in English (German is a plus).
  • EU passport or valid right to work in Germany required.

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant.
