We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support industrial and power generation projects on a freelance basis in Germany. The role involves hands‑on mechanical engineering support for heavy‑duty gas turbines, working closely with site, commissioning, and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support for heavy‑duty gas turbine projects
- Support installation, maintenance, inspection, and overhaul activities of gas turbines and auxiliary systems
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and OEM documentation
- Perform on‑site mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and fault analysis
- Support commissioning, testing, and performance verification of gas turbine systems
- Coordinate with project managers, technicians, commissioning engineers, and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, HSE regulations, and quality requirements
- Prepare technical reports, site documentation, and handover materials
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
- Proven experience working with heavy‑duty gas turbines (e.g. Siemens, GE, Mitsubishi or similar OEMs)
- Strong background in mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and power plant environments
- Hands‑on experience supporting site‑based activities and plant operations
- Ability to work independently in a freelance, project‑based environment
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Fluent in German (spoken and written); good working knowledge of English
- Willingness and availability to work on‑site across Germany
