We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support industrial and power generation projects on a freelance basis in Germany. The role involves hands‑on mechanical engineering support for heavy‑duty gas turbines, working closely with site, commissioning, and project teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering support for heavy‑duty gas turbine projects
  • Support installation, maintenance, inspection, and overhaul activities of gas turbines and auxiliary systems
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and OEM documentation
  • Perform on‑site mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and fault analysis
  • Support commissioning, testing, and performance verification of gas turbine systems
  • Coordinate with project managers, technicians, commissioning engineers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, HSE regulations, and quality requirements
  • Prepare technical reports, site documentation, and handover materials

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven experience working with heavy‑duty gas turbines (e.g. Siemens, GE, Mitsubishi or similar OEMs)
  • Strong background in mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and power plant environments
  • Hands‑on experience supporting site‑based activities and plant operations
  • Ability to work independently in a freelance, project‑based environment
  • Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Fluent in German (spoken and written); good working knowledge of English
  • Willingness and availability to work on‑site across Germany

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
