Project Control Engineer · Hybrid

Project Controls Engineer / Planning Engineer from an industrial/chemical background to work on various projects on a chemical plant in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the plant is going through various CAPEX and turnaround projects and you would join an established project team.

The opportunity is on a 12 month rolling basis with the opportunity to extend until the end of 2027. The client has an immediate need and could start somebody straight away.

 

Project Planner / Project Scheduler

START: ASAP – February / March 2026

LOCATION: Rotterdam – South Side

DURATION: 12 Month Rolling – Extension to 2027

The role will suit a planner with experience in the petrochemical / onshore oil & gas / renewables industry with a strong track record of planning EPC (CAPEX) or turnaround (OPEX) projects. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience using primavera, but for this project you would only be expected to use MSP/P6.

 

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years’ experience with planning / scheduling construction on EPC/Turnaround projects.
  • Experience with planning tools such as MSP, P6.
  • Engineering background is preferred.
  • (Petro)chemical, onshore oil & gas, waste to energy experience required.
  • English speaking essential.

 

Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience working for the end client.
  • Beneficial Dutch language skills

 

The client is a plant operator which is building a chemical plant in Rotterdam, Netherlands. They require a planner / project controls engineer to join them immediately assisting with developing the existing construction schedule.

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
