About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support a variety of major projects across the Randstad. This role involves technical oversight and hands‑on involvement in both building foundation projects and cabling & infrastructure developments. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost‑effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, soil analysis, and site assessments for building foundations and underground infrastructure.
- Provide reliable geotechnical design recommendations, including bearing capacity assessments, settlement calculations, and slope stability analyses.
- Support trenching, cabling, and utility installation projects with geotechnical expertise, including ground risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Review and interpret geotechnical data, laboratory results, and field test outcomes.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, design notes, risk assessments, and technical documentation in Dutch.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, project managers, and contractors on project delivery.
- Monitor site works to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Advise on foundation systems, ground improvement techniques, piling, and excavation support.
- Provide input during tendering, planning, and construction phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design and site investigation.
- Demonstrated experience in building foundation projects and/or cabling & infrastructure works.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch geotechnical standards (NEN), Eurocodes, and local regulations.
- Proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, D‑Sheet Piling, GeoStudio, or equivalent).
- Fluent Dutch (spoken and written) is mandatory.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Valid right to work in the Netherlands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with projects in the Randstad region.
- Familiarity with urban development constraints, soft soil conditions, and high‑density infrastructure.
- Prior work with contractors, engineering consultancies, or utility providers.
