Cost Manager | Paris | Permanent | Client Side

We are supporting the largest and most established data centre developer in France as they seek a Cost Manager to strengthen their commercial and financial oversight across major new build datacentre projects in Paris.

This is a client‑side role, focused on pre‑construction cost planning, procurement strategy, commercial risk management, and financial control throughout the early phases of project development.

A fantastic opportunity to influence the cost, value, and commercial success of high‑scale, technically complex mission‑critical assets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust early‑stage cost plans and estimates across design, feasibility, and pre‑construction phases.
  • Benchmark against previous datacentre builds and ensure alignment with client budgets and standards.
  • Support the client in defining a clear procurement strategy (D&B, ECI, trade packages).
  • Prepare tender documentation, pricing schedules, and scopes of work for major construction and MEP packages.
  • Manage change control procedures, evaluating cost impacts and protecting the client’s financial position.
  • Support contract administration through construction (FIDIC/JCT/NEC depending on project structure).
  • Bring strong understanding of MEP‑heavy cost structures (cooling, power, electrical rooms, UPS, generators).
  • Collaborate with planners, engineers, and design teams to ensure cost, scope, and programme alignment.

Your Profile:

  • Experience as a Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, or Cost Engineer.
  • Strong background in data centres, mission‑critical, industrial, or big‑MEP/complex infrastructure projects.
  • Client‑side or consultancy experience (PQS) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of pre‑construction processes, procurement, commercial risk, and cost control.
  • Strong analytical capability and proficiency with estimating and cost tools (Excel, CostX, etc.).
