g2 are currently searching for a Freelance HSE Supervisor for a client of mine who is overseeing a major greenfield construction project within the oil & gas sector in Antwerp.

This is a large‑scale new‑build development, with the successful candidate working on behalf of the client representative to ensure safe execution across all construction phases.

The requirement is for a freelance professional able to commit to a 2‑year assignment, working 40 hours per week, with an immediate start.

LOCATION: Antwerp

DURATION: 2‑Year Contract – 40 hours/week – Freelance

Freelance HSE Supervisor – Greenfield Oil & Gas Construction – Antwerp

 

Requirements:

· MVK / Prevention Advisor Level 2 certification (mandatory)

· Degree‑qualified (HSE, Engineering, or related discipline)

· 5–10+ years’ HSE experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial construction

· Proven experience on greenfield construction sites (civil, structural, MEP phases)

· Full Dutch fluency (essential) – English is an advantage

 

Role:

· Provide daily HSE supervision across an active greenfield construction site in Antwerp

· Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, safety briefings and contractor inductions

· Lead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action follow‑up

· Support safe planning and execution during civil, structural, mechanical and installation phases

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
