Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Lead to oversee all HSE activities on a major substation project in Denmark. This is a freelance position for an initial 12-month contract, with a strong emphasis on managing subcontractors and ensuring full compliance with local and international safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all HSE aspects of the substation construction project
- Supervise and coordinate HSE performance across multiple subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with Danish regulations, client standards, and international best practices
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and documentation
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Deliver HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Act as the main point of contact for all HSE-related matters on site
- Promote a strong safety culture across the project
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HSE Lead on large-scale construction or substation/energy projects
- Strong background in managing subcontractors on-site
- Relevant HSE certification (NEBOSH or equivalent required)
- Fluency in English is essential; Danish is highly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
