Our client is working on a Gas‑to‑Gas powered data centre in Heek, a strategic location near the Dutch border, supporting high‑efficiency gas‑based energy systems integrated with mission‑critical electrical infrastructure.

The project involves complex electrical distribution, MV/LV systems, UPS bridging, gas‑powered backup systems, and high‑availability operational requirements typical of Tier III/Tier IV data centres.

We are seeking a capable Electrical Engineer with experience in medium voltage either on a data centres, gas power plants, or mission‑critical electrical systems. You will oversee the installation, integration, and commissioning support of electrical systems on-site while coordinating closely with mechanical, gas‑systems, and MEP teams.

This is a long‑term position offering stability and technical progression within the mission‑critical sector.

 

Electrical Systems & Installations

  • Supervise MV/LV distribution, switchgear, UPS, emergency power systems, cabling, and grounding.
  • Ensure correct electrical interfacing with gas‑powered generation systems and gas‑fired backup infrastructure.
  • Review electrical schematics, single‑line diagrams, and technical submissions.

Gas‑to‑Gas System Integration

  • Coordinate with gas‑system engineers to ensure electrical connection integrity.
  • Review control logic, safety interlocks, and protection systems related to gas‑based equipment.
  • Support operational readiness of gas‑electrical integration components.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct inspections, snagging, and quality checks across electrical work packages.
  • Ensure compliance with German VDE/DIN electrical standards and client specifications.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, functional testing, and commissioning (L1–L5).

Project Coordination

  • Work with project management, commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues proactively.
  • Attend meetings and provide accurate progress reporting.

Health & Safety

  • Uphold and enforce German HSE electrical safety regulations.
  • Ensure safe operational procedures when working around gas‑powered systems.

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong experience with medium‑voltage electrical systems, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, or industrial power distribution.
  • Experience in data centres, energy plants, utilities, or mission‑critical projects is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical documentation.
  • Fluency in German OR English.
  • Right to work in Germany.
  • Experience with gas‑powered generation, CHP, or industrial gas systems.
  • Knowledge of VDE/DIN electrical standards.
  • Experience with commissioning stages (L1–L5).
  • Familiarity with Siemens, ABB, or Schneider systems.
