Location – West of Berlin / North of Munich (Hybrid: 1 Day/Week On‑Site, some full‑week requirements)

G2 are supporting a major client in recruiting a Freelance Grid Connection Manager for two BESS projects currently under construction totalling 200 MW, with an additional 500 MW project expected in Q3. This position is central to ensuring full compliance with German grid codes, and guaranteeing the technical quality of all grid‑related deliverables.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage all grid‑connection activities across multiple BESS sites, ensuring full alignment with German grid‑code requirements.
• Review, validate, and optimise grid‑connection documentation including simulations, protection concepts, studies, and compliance reports.
• Coordinate with TSOs, EPCs, consultants, and internal engineering teams to ensure timely approvals and technical sign‑off.
• Oversee commissioning‑phase activities related to grid integration, including testing, SCADA interfaces, and compliance verification.
• Identify technical risks, resolve grid‑related issues quickly, and ensure that both current and future project grid connections remain fully compliant and on schedule.
Requirements to be considered:
• Mandatory experience working directly with 50Hertz on grid‑connection processes.
• Strong background in German grid‑code compliance, TSO communication, and grid‑integration procedures for BESS or similar assets.
• Demonstrated experience delivering grid‑connection scope on large‑scale renewable or storage projects within the German market.
• German language fluency C1 (required for TSO communication, documentation, and technical correspondence).
• Ability to work hybrid: generally 1 day/week onsite, with occasional full‑week onsite requirements.
