About the job

As a Lead Site Architect, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale data center projects in the Frankfurt region. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you will oversee the execution, coordination, and quality of architectural works on site. You will ensure all installations adhere to design intent, local regulations, project specifications, and the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

Construction submittal review for Mechanical documents:

  • Review technical submittals (materials, finishes, building elements) against the latest approved design documentation and provide comments.
  • Evaluate architectural shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction detailing for compliance.
  • Respond to contractor RFIs (Requests for Information) relating to architectural scope, ensuring timely and clear resolutions.
  • Monitor and track submittal status across the architectural package.

Identifies and captures progress and risks from the site:

  • Contribute to weekly progress reports, highlighting key issues, risks, matters needing escalation, and design clarifications.
  • Provide structured exception reporting to ensure issues are quickly visible and actionable

Site Visits:

  • Visit the site frequently to spot check and review installations against approved construction documentation.
  • Review progress on site vs. the progress reported by the contractor. If there are areas where installations are progressing without approved drawings/submittals, raise as a risk on site visit list and as an observation in QMS.

Attendance meeting as lead from the employer's side including:

  • Attendance in construction design meetings.
  • Attendance in snag meetings (internal and external).

Your Profile

We are seeking a Senior Architectural Engineer / Architect with ideally 5+ years of experience supervising architectural works on complex construction projects. The role involves design author supervision, site quality oversight, and active coordination across all architectural interfaces

  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline
  • Strong technical understanding of architectural detailing, building codes, fire safety regulations, building envelope systems, and interior fit-out works.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary environments with mechanical, electrical, and structural teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Full rights to work in Germany (or EU passport).
  • Previous data centre construction experience is prefered due to the specialised nature of the projects
