QUANTITY SURVEYOR / COST MANAGER – DATA CENTRE | FRANKFURT
g2 are partnering with a leading data‑centre developer delivering a major hyperscale project in Frankfurt, and we’re seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to take full commercial oversight from early‑stage tendering through to commissioning.
This is an ideal role for a QS who thrives in high‑value, MEP‑intensive environments, with a passion for cost governance, procurement strategy, and full lifecycle commercial management.
Position Overview
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Contract: Freelance | 12 months | Extensions highly likely
Start: ASAP
Language: English essential; German beneficial
Eligibility: EU‑based freelancers / Right to work in Germany
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost management throughout pre‑construction and delivery
- Manage budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, financial governance & risk
- Oversee procurement, tendering, contract administration & change control
- Support OFCI procurement, long‑lead packages, and commercial risk strategies
- Drive cost planning, estimating, benchmarking & value engineering
- Work closely with client stakeholders, EPC partners & design teams
- Maintain tight control of MEP‑heavy cost packages typical of hyperscale builds
Experience Required
- Proven background as Senior QS / Cost Manager on data centres or mission‑critical projects
- Strong commercial understanding of MEP‑heavy, high‑capacity environments
- Hands‑on experience with pre‑construction cost planning + OFCI procurement
- Ability to manage large‑value packages and mitigate long‑lead commercial risks
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solution‑driven approach
