Commissioning Manager – Waste-to-Energy Project (Freelance / Contract)

We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager for a major waste-to-energy project located in Poland. This is a long-term contract opportunity on a key energy infrastructure project, with an immediate start available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all commissioning activities across the waste-to-energy facility
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee commissioning phases including testing, start-up, and performance verification
- Manage mechanical, electrical, and process commissioning teams on-site
- Ensure all plant systems are commissioned in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements
- Coordinate closely with construction, engineering, operations, and client teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure commissioning activities are completed on schedule
- Review and approve commissioning procedures, reports, and technical documentation
Requirements
- Previous experience working on waste-to-energy (WTE) projects is essential
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or Senior Commissioning Engineer within power generation, energy, or industrial process plants
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes, plant start-up, and system testing procedures
- Experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams
- Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Excellent coordination and leadership skills
- Fluent English and Polish language skills required
- Willingness to work on-site in Poland
- Eligible to work in the EU on a freelance/contract basis
