Freelance Project Manager – Data Centre (Renewable Energy)

Paris, France | On-site | Freelance / Contract

 

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead the delivery of a data centre project in the renewable energy sector. This is an on-site role based in Paris, working on a complex, fast-paced infrastructure project with a strong sustainability focus.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and French, highly organised, and experienced in managing large-scale technical or construction-led projects, preferably within data centres, energy, or critical infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for a data centre project from planning through delivery
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality in line with project objectives
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, vendors, and external stakeholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact between clients, contractors, and local authorities
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, and sustainability standards
  • Track progress against milestones and report regularly to senior stakeholders
  • Manage change control, issue resolution, and decision-making processes
  • Support commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale infrastructure, data centre, energy, or construction projects
  • Strong understanding of data centre environments and/or renewable energy systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Agile – certification preferred)
  • Ability to work autonomously in a freelance/contract capacity
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, on-site project environment

Language Requirements

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Fluent French (written and spoken) – essential for local coordination

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
