Freelance Architects – 400MW Hyperscale Data Centre Campus (Portugal)

4 x Roles | 12‑Month Contracts | Start ASAP

We are recruiting four freelance Architects for a 400MW hyperscale data centre campus in Portugal. This includes 1 Senior / Lead Architect and 3 Project Architects to form a dedicated delivery team on a major mission‑critical programme.

 

Senior / Lead Architect (1 Role)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 2–3 architects, taking responsibility for multiple buildings on site
  • Remain hands-on, producing and reviewing design deliverables
  • Coordinate closely with CSA, MEP and wider consultant teams
  • Act as a client-facing design lead
  • Manage design delivery through construction stages

Requirements

  • Proven hyperscale data centre experience (essential)
  • Strong background in leading and managing design teams
  • Excellent Revit and BIM capability
  • Experience coordinating across disciplines on complex projects

 

Architects (3 Roles)

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and deliver architectural design packages as the primary function
  • Work across RIBA Stages 2–5
  • Coordinate with other disciplines under the Lead Architect

Requirements

  • Strong Revit and BIM experience (essential)
  • Proven experience on mission‑critical facilities
  • Experience delivering complex projects through technical and construction stages

Contract & Logistics

  • Freelance contracts – 12 months (2‑week notice period)
  • Fully remote
  • Architects to work on their own hardware (software provided by the client)
  • Start ASAP, ideally within 2 weeks

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Systems & Academy Trainer

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
