DATA CENTRE SITE MANAGER

Berlin, Germany

Long‑term Contract / Freelance

THE ROLE

We are looking for a battle‑tested Data Centre Site Manager to take full control of a major mission‑critical project in Berlin. This is not a token title or a clipboard role. You will own the site programme, people, safety, delivery start to finish.

If you haven’t run MEP‑heavy, zero‑failure environments, this is not for you.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Total day‑to‑day management of a live data centre construction site
  • Driving programme, sequencing, and site logistics in a high‑pressure environment
  • Direct control of MEP subcontractors (electrical, mechanical, CSA interfaces)
  • Enforcing non‑negotiable HSE standards zero shortcuts, zero tolerance
  • Coordinating commissioning‑critical works where delays cost serious money
  • Chairing site meetings and producing clear, no‑bullshit progress reporting
  • Managing inspections, quality control, snagging, and handover
  • Acting as the main point of contact for client, PM, consultants, and authorities

WHAT WE ACTUALLY NEED (NOT “NICE TO HAVES”)

  • Proven experience as Site Manager on data centre or mission‑critical projects
  • Strong background in MEP‑led builds you understand power, cooling, redundancy
  • Comfortable running large subcontractor packages and complex interfaces
  • Deep understanding of German HSE and site compliance requirements
  • Able to make decisions on site without being babysat
  • Calm under pressure, direct communicator, not ego‑driven
  • Fluent English required; German a strong advantage
  • Willing and available to be on‑site in Berlin

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
