Position Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Field Tester to lead the physical setup and execution of high-voltage tests within electrical substations. You will be responsible for transforming a specialized, proprietary mobile laboratory (Resonant Test System) into a fully functional testing circuit. This role requires a blend of mechanical aptitude (rigging/lifting) and high-level electrical technical skill (fiber optics/sensor calibration).

Key Field Responsibilities

  • Site Preparation: Independently arrange testing circuits and install hardware, including corona rings.
  • Safety Implementation: Execute rigorous earth grounding protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Technical Integration: Lay down fiber optic cables and connect them to sensors with high precision.
  • System Calibration: Calibrate sensors and verify system integrity prior to live testing.
  • Mobile Lab Operation: Operate and maintain our proprietary Resonant Test System (RTS) following specialized internal training.

Technical Profile

Must-Haves:

  • Field Experience: Proven track record of site activities in electrical substations (Commissioning, Maintenance, or Testing).
  • Certifications: Valid Working at Height and Crane Handling (or Slinger/Signaller) certifications.
  • Safety Training: General First Aid and Firefighting qualifications.
  • Regional Compliance: EURS registration (BESC) for UK projects and/or equivalent German safety credentials (e.g., EuP or EFK).
  • German Speaking Fluent

The "Real Plus" (Preferred Assets):

  • Direct experience with Omicron PD (Partial Discharge) systems.
  • Experience with HighVolt Resonant Systems.

Candidate Attributes

  • Independent Operator: Capable of managing complex setups with minimal supervision after initial training.
  • Detail-Oriented: Precision is critical when dealing with fiber optics and sensor calibration.
  • Mobile & Flexible: Comfortable with the travel demands of a freelance field role.
