Job Description – Site Manager (Wind Project) – Freelance

 

Location: Denmark (Hybrid – site + remote)

Contract Type: Freelance / Contract

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a wind energy project in Denmark. This is a freelance contract role with a hybrid setup, requiring a mix of on-site leadership and remote coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction and installation activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day site operations for wind turbine installation and construction
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) standards and Danish regulations
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and reporting to stakeholders
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and handover phases
  • Monitor budgets, resources, and progress against plan
  • Act as the primary point of contact for on-site issues and escalation
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on wind projects (onshore or offshore)
  • Strong knowledge of wind turbine installation and construction processes
  • Familiarity with Danish HSE regulations (or EU standards)
  • Ability to manage large teams and multiple contractors
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Fluent in English (Danish is advantageous)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., SMSTS, NEBOSH, GWO preferred)
  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice

 

Working Setup:

  • Hybrid role: combination of on-site presence in Denmark and remote coordination
  • Flexible rotation depending on project phase - EU passport needed for travel

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
