Interim Senior Finance Officer (Treasury) · 9-12 Month Contract
A local authority client of g2 Recruitment are currently on the lookout for an Interim Senior Finance Officer to join on an initial 9 month contract and work as part of their Treasury Management team.
- Job Role: Interim Senior Finance Officer
- Contract Duration: 9 Months (possibility to extend further).
- Location: Surrey
- Rate: DOE
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Hybrid: X2 days in office per week to begin with, over time there is the possibility for this to reduce down to X1 day in office per week.
- Days: 5 days per week.
- Earliest Start Date: ASAP
Main duties:
- Responsible for daily treasury tasks such as:
- Morning investments.
- Produce proposals on how cash in the bank is being invested.
- Scrutinise investment opportunities in line with the councils guidelines.
- Weekly cashflow forecasts.
- Bi-weekly meetings on cashflow.
- Bank reconciliations, short and long term investments.
- Prepare VAT returns.
- Raise purchase orders.
- The council already have a Treasury Accountant who does reporting/accountancy work separate to this position.
- This role is purely hands on and there will be no management responsibilities.
- Potential additional collection funds work.
Candidates:

- AAT desired but not essential as long as you have the suitable experience.
- Must have specific local authority experience working in day to day treasury.
- Ideally would have collection fund experience or a willingness to learn this.
