Quality Engineer / Supervisor – Substation Project

Location: Hamina, Finland

Contract Length: 12 Months

Schedule: Full-Time, Site-Based

Rate: Competitive Hourly Rate

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major Substation Project in Hamina, Finland. This is a full-time, site-based role supporting the delivery of a large-scale electrical infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining project quality standards, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry regulations, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits across civil, mechanical, and electrical works.
  • Review and verify Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier quality performance.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements.
  • Support quality reviews, site inspections, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with project management, construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer on Substation, Power Transmission, Data Centre, or large industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes.
  • Experience with inspection procedures, audits, and document control.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English required; Finnish language skills are advantageous.

These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
