📍 Germany (Hamburg / Rostock + hybrid)

Contract: Freelance (12–24 months)

The Opportunity

G2 Recruitment is supporting a leading international offshore wind developer on a flagship project in the German Baltic Sea — one of the largest renewable energy developments in Europe.

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to take ownership of critical electrical packages, supporting the project through engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead delivery of electrical systems including:
  • Export & inter-array cables
  • Offshore substations
  • Grid connection infrastructure
  • Manage interfaces across engineering, installation, and grid stakeholders
  • Oversee contractors and suppliers (cabling, substations, HV equipment)
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and risks for electrical scope
  • Ensure compliance with German grid codes, standards, and HSE requirements
  • Support commissioning and energisation activities
  • Drive performance through KPI monitoring and reporting
  • Act as key point of contact for all electrical package stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager on offshore wind or major energy infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • High-voltage systems (HV/MV)
  • Offshore wind electrical architecture
  • Grid connection requirements
  • Experience managing multi-contractor environments
  • Track record delivering projects on time & within budget
  • Familiar with German energy market / regulatory landscape (nice to have)
  • Fluent English (German is a bonus)

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
