Freelance Electrical Tester – Data Centre Construction

 

Amsterdam, Netherlands Rate: Dependent on Experience

G2 Recruitment is partnering with a leading electrical contractor on an active data centre project in Amsterdam. We are seeking an experienced Freelance Electrical Tester to join the team on an initial 2-month contract basis.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspection and testing of LV electrical installations in accordance with Dutch and international standards
  • Perform busbar testing including continuity, insulation resistance, and high-pot testing of busbar trunking systems
  • Complete test documentation including schedules of test results, inspection certificates, and defect reports
  • Perform initial verification and periodic inspection of electrical systems across the site
  • Identify, report, and track defects through to resolution in line with project QA/QC procedures
  • Liaise with site engineers, project managers, and client representatives on testing progress
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with site HSE requirements and permit-to-work systems
  • Support commissioning activities as required, including witnessing and sign-off of electrical systems

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Tester on commercial, industrial, or data centre projects
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) OR NEN 3140 – one of these is essential
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience testing busbar trunking systems – essential
  • Solid understanding of LV electrical standards applicable to the Netherlands
  • Familiarity with data centre systems (UPS, PDU, generators) a strong advantage
  • Valid VCA or equivalent Dutch safety certification preferred
  • BSN number and right to work in the Netherlands required (or ability to obtain)
  • English essential, Dutch an advantage
