Project Manager · On-site
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a 140MW / 151MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Dortmund. The successful candidate will manage the project throughout the full lifecycle, from detailed engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of BESS project execution, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Coordinate EPC contractors, subcontractors, OEMs, and utility stakeholders.
- Oversee civil, electrical, and high-voltage construction activities.
- Monitor project schedules, risks, costs, and quality standards.
- Lead site progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with German HSE regulations and grid connection requirements.
- Support commissioning, energisation, and project handover activities.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in project management within renewable energy, power generation, substations, or energy storage.
- Strong understanding of HV electrical infrastructure and utility-scale construction projects.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management qualification preferred.
- Fluent German and English advantageous.
