Project Manager - Robotics, Automated Warehouses - Germany, Bavaria - Competitive Salary, Bonus Scheme & Benefits

We are looking for an experience Project Manager to lead the delivery and implementation of advanced automated warehouse solutions based on grid-based robotic systems. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring successful deployment of high-performance intralogistics systems within customer environments

This position is for one of the leading companies within grid-based robotics across the DACH region, and this positions involves working closely with the key decision makers, who are keen to hear suggestions from the chosen candidate. The positions also offers a flexible, hybrid working pattern. Please see an overview below, however I can of course share more details and answer any questions over a call.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full project lifecycle from concept through design, installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Manage multi-disciplinary project teams including engineering, software, installation, and commissioning personnel
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Coordinate system integration activities across robotics, conveyor systems, warehouse control software, and infrastructure
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed technical specifications
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Oversee site installation activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party vendors
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
  • Monitor project performance and report progress to senior leadership
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practice development

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager/Lead Engineer within automated warehousing, logistics, robotics, or material handling systems
  • Strong understanding of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), robotics, or grid-based fulfilment solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-site or large-scale engineering projects
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and commercial aspects of projects
  • Familiarity with warehouse control systems (WCS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and system integration
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile)
  • Engineering, logistics, or technical degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with high-density automated storage solutions or robotic fulfilment systems
  • Knowledge of commissioning and operational ramp-up phases
  • Strong command of English, strong command of German is highly desirable

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
