Are you an experienced Environmental Protection Officer looking for your next contract opportunity?
We are currently working with a Local Authority in the North West that is seeking an Environmental Protection Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy Environmental Health service, dealing with a varied caseload and making a direct impact within the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve statutory nuisance complaints relating to:
- Noise
- Smoke
- Dust
- Odour
- Light pollution
- Undertake environmental monitoring and noise assessments.
- Serve notices and carry out enforcement action where required.
- Provide environmental health input on planning applications.
- Respond to licensing consultations and applications.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and evidence gathering.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate case records.
- Liaise with residents, businesses, councillors, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental protection legislation and guidance.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a Local Authority Environmental Protection team.
- Strong working knowledge of Environmental Protection Act legislation and statutory nuisance investigations.
- Experience dealing with planning and licensing consultations.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
