Architectural Technologist

Job Title: Architectural Technologist - Cladding Remediation Projects

Location: Manchester (Hybrid/Office-based options available)

Type: Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (DOE)

Overview:

Multiple well-established architectural practices across Manchester are currently seeking experienced Architectural Technologists to join their teams on a permanent basis, with a key focus on cladding remediation and façade safety projects.

These firms are involved in vital remedial works across the UK, contributing to the improvement of existing residential and mixed-use buildings in line with evolving fire safety and regulatory standards. Ideal for technologists who enjoy technical problem-solving, regulation compliance, and seeing the direct impact of their work on building safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed technical drawings and packages for cladding remediation projects.
  • Conduct thorough surveys and site assessments to inform remedial design strategies.
  • Liaise with façade engineers, fire consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Ensure all designs comply with the latest building safety regulations, including the Building Safety Act and relevant fire guidance (e.g., PAS 9980).
  • Assist with planning submissions, tender documentation, and contractor coordination.
  • Attend site inspections and support contract administration during construction phases.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of UK experience, ideally with exposure to refurbishment or remedial works.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, particularly fire safety and cladding standards.
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; experience working in BIM Level 2 environments is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills and an eye for technical detail.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
