Test/Automation Engineer – Mechatronics

Our client is seeking a seasoned and hands-on Test Engineer to join the Design and Test team. This team is a multi-disciplinary environment of design leaders and test engineers dedicated to develop automated solutions and how millions of customer orders are fulfilled every day.

 

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans for mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Perform functional, integration, and acceptance testing of automation equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Document test results and recommend design improvements

 

Basic qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering
  • Experience testing industrial automation or packaging machinery
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with testing equipment, processes and standards
  • Good command of English (required); Flemish/Dutch is a plus)

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Deep knowledge and experience on writing and execution of test processes for complex mechatronic and automation systems
  • Strong knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Beckhoff, Rockwell, Codesys) and industrial protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus)
  • Good knowledge of LV & HV industrial electrical panels and related safety standards
  • Experience working with the following software packages: Team center, Polarion, E-plan

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
