AVL Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Audio-Visual and Lighting (AVL) Planner to join my clients dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating AV and lighting solutions for a variety of events and installations. You will work closely with clients, event producers, and technical teams to develop detailed layouts and plans that bring visions to life, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional visual impact.

Role - Audio-Visual and Lighting Planner

Duration - 12 months initial

Rate - Negotiable Per/Hour in €

Location - Fully Remote (Site Visits in Planning Stage)

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed technical drawings and layouts using Vectorworks, AutoCAD, or CID software.

  • Develop comprehensive AVL plans, including lighting, sound, projection, and multimedia setups, tailored to client needs and event specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and production teams to interpret design concepts and translate them into technical plans.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technology based on project scope, budget, and venue constraints.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of AVL equipment.
  • Oversee installation and setup of AVL systems at event sites, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during setup and events to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an AVL Planner, Lighting Designer, or similar role, ideally in event production, stage design, or architectural projects.
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks, AutoCAD, CID, or other relevant design software.
  • Strong understanding of AV and lighting equipment, systems, and industry standards.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and design skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
