Business Intelligence Expert

Freelance BI Expert | Ghent (Hybrid) | Hybrid

We're looking for a Business Intelligence expert to join an exciting data-driven initiative with a leading Defence Manufacturing institution.

This is a freelance opportunity based in Ghent with a hybrid work setup, offering both flexibility and the chance to contribute to important, high-impact projects on the European stage.

The Role:

As a BI Consultant, you'll design and deliver strong analytics solutions that support international collaboration and policy decisions. You'll work closely with stakeholders in a multilingual environment, helping shape the future of digital transformation.

Key Details:

  • Location: Ghent (Hybrid)
  • Contract: Freelance
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Day Rate: €650+ (DOE)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Build insightful dashboards and BI reports using Qlik Sense
  • Translate complex requirements into clear, actionable data solutions
  • Develop and manage ETL pipelines, data models, and data warehouse structures
  • Optimise data quality, performance, and visualisation effectiveness
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Document your work and support deployment and user training

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong grasp of data architecture, ETL design, and SQL databases
  • Solid track record with Qlik Sense in delivering BI solutions
  • Comfortable with tools like SAP BO and modelling techniques
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus)

Bonus Skills Include:

  • Familiarity with JIRA, GitHub, ServiceNow
  • Knowledge of PM² / PM² Agile
  • Agile experience: Scrum / Kanban

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

Kane joined g2 in April 2023 as an Academy & Systems Trainer.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
