Commissioning Engineer
Position: Commissioning Engineer - Flue Gas Treatment (m/f/d)
Location: Hamburg, Germany
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (Rotations 4 days on / 4 days off)
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the cold and hot commissioning phases of a flue gas treatment system at an industrial facility in Hamburg Germany. This is a key role within a multidisciplinary project team focused on the efficient and compliant start-up of environmental control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the commissioning and start-up of the flue gas cleaning system, including both cold and hot phases
- Operate and monitor the system using PCS7 (both control room and field-based activities)
- Execute system function checks, loop testing, and troubleshooting during commissioning
- Collaborate with automation, process, and mechanical teams to ensure integrated system readiness
- Review and validate commissioning procedures and checklists
- Identify and escalate technical issues; coordinate resolution with the engineering team
- Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and operational standards
- Maintain accurate and detailed commissioning records, logbooks, and technical reports
- Provide handover documentation and operational support to site operations personnel
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in commissioning flue gas treatment, emissions control, or related industrial gas processing systems
- Solid understanding of PCS7 or similar distributed control systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and control interfaces
- Familiarity with international commissioning standards and environmental compliance requirements
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic project environment
- Fluent in English (German language skills are an advantage)
- EU work authorisation preferred
