Commissioning Engineer | Data Center Power Systems (Diesel Generators)

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning of critical diesel backup power generation systems within a data center environment. This is a hands-on technical role focused on ensuring the reliable operation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of diesel generator systems, PLC controls, and associated automation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission diesel generator sets and associated power systems.
- Perform point-to-point testing and validation of electrical and automation systems.
- Conduct PLC point testing and commissioning activities.
- Review and verify ventilation automation test protocols.
- Ensure automation functionality and software logic operate correctly.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify commissioning issues.
- Complete and maintain commissioning documentation and reports.
- Support electrical installations where required.
- Supervise subcontractors and commissioning partners when appropriate.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure successful handover of systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Electrical engineering, electrician, electromechanical, or mechanical background with strong electrical knowledge.
- Experience commissioning PLC-based control systems.
- Hands-on experience performing point-to-point testing.
- Data center commissioning experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems and critical infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead commissioning partners when required.
The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on commissioning professional with strong electrical and automation expertise. You should be comfortable working in high-performance data center environments, solving technical challenges independently, and ensuring systems are delivered to the highest operational standards.
