Commissioning Engineer – Steel Manufacturing

Our client is looking for freelance commissioning engineers on freelance for a large project in Germany.

Details:

Location: Germany

Duration: 12 months

Start: January 2026

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee installation of meltshop equipment (EAF, BOF, ladle furnaces, CCM)
  • Conduct dry runs and system checks (mechanical, electrical, control)
  • Support first heat execution and monitor process parameters
  • Integrate and optimize full meltshop operations
  • Verify quality, throughput, and energy performance
  • Finalize commissioning and hand over to operations

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong process control skills
  • At least 5 years of commissioning experience in steel plants, ideally melt shops
  • Ladle furnace experience or EAF experience highly desirable

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
