Commissioning Manager

Mechanical Commissioning Manager
Location: UK-wide travel
Project: Retail
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: DOE | Outside IR35

I'm working with a respected Building Services Consultancy supporting a nationwide retail project, and they're looking to bring on a Mechanical (biased) Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activity across multiple live sites around the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee mechanical commissioning from installation through to handover across retail projects

  • Coordinate with design, installation, and client teams to ensure commissioning is aligned with programme and quality expectations

  • Review commissioning plans, witness testing, and verify system performance

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and H&S requirements

  • Provide regular updates, technical support, and guidance across the delivery teams

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Manager within building services

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and commissioning practices

  • Retail, commercial, or fast-track project experience is highly desirable

  • Comfortable with UK-wide travel and managing multiple concurrent sites

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Our Three Pillars of Training

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
