Construction Manager

Our Steel Mill Client is looking for a Construction Manager representing the client as the PMC on a Steel Plant construction project.

 

Contract: 

  • Location: Stuttgart, Germany
  • Working arrangement: Freelance
  • Contract: 12+ months
  • Rate: Negotiable (based on experience), accommodation provided
  • Mobilisation: Immediate
  • Rotation: 3 weeks on, 1 week remote

 

Job Title: Construction Manager

Overview:

  • Seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee all phases of a large-scale industrial project, including earthworks, civil works, steel structures, mechanical/electrical/automation assembly, and commissioning. You will work closely with the client to manage contractors, ensure compliance with project requirements, and address technical, contractual, and schedule issues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate PMC Construction Team to ensure timely, compliant contractor work.
  • Oversee quality, schedule, cost, risk, and safety during construction.
  • Collaborate with client and logistics teams to manage equipment erection.
  • Maintain strong relationships with client and contractors to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and technical requirements.
  • Manage technical documentation and reporting on progress and risks.
  • Support planning, scheduling, and corrective action implementation.
  • Lead project/contract review meetings and track assigned tasks.

 

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree with 10+ years in construction management (Oil & Gas, Mining, Steel, Infrastructure, or similar).
  • Proven experience on large, complex projects and EPC/PMC/EPCM contracts.
  • Skilled in quality control, risk management, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Strong commercial and technical understanding; able to manage multicultural teams under pressure.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Primavera, Aconex; fluent in English.
  • Willing to commute to Stuttgart, Germany 3 weeks/month.
