Site Manager / Construction Manager (Piling & Welding Works)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Bremerhaven

Salary: TBD

 

The Site Manager is responsible for the overall on-site management, coordination, and execution of construction projects, with a focus on piling and welding works. This role ensures that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, within budget, on schedule, and to the required quality standards, in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., DGUV, VOB, building codes) and company policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to define project requirements, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Plan and organize the deployment of equipment, materials, and personnel, including piling and welding teams and subcontractors.
  • Review all available project documentation and technical drawings prior to mobilization to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and pre-assessment visits to identify potential risks, site constraints, and logistics requirements.

Site Execution & Quality Control:

  • Oversee the execution of all works in accordance with approved drawings, structural calculations, and project specifications.
  • Monitor progress, identify deviations from plans or specifications, and implement corrective actions in consultation with the Project Manager.
  • Ensure efficient sequencing of works, site logistics, and material handling to maintain continuous workflow.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of supplier deliveries and subcontractor outputs.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed daily site reports documenting work performed, deviations, delays, and additional work.
  • Maintain records of working hours, subcontractor activities, and supplier deliveries.
  • Collect and submit documentation for claims or changes in scope, including additional works or delays.
  • Provide timely updates and relevant information to the Project Manager to support scheduling, invoicing, and client communications.

Client & Supplier Communication:

  • Maintain regular contact with clients to discuss work progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on project expectations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Serve as the on-site representative of the company, ensuring professional client relations and communication.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Vocational qualification or degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in coordinating subcontractors, managing site teams, and delivering projects safely, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Solid understanding of VOB, BGB, and DGUV regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction management software, including MS Office, MS Dynamics Business Central, and iTWO or equivalent.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Germany.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in technical knowledge and management skills.
