Mechanical & HVAC (Data Center)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee all mechanical and HVAC installation activities for a large-scale data center project in Frankfurt. The successful candidate will coordinate contractors, ensure compliance with design specifications, maintain strict safety and quality standards, and help deliver the project on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage mechanical and HVAC installation works, including chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, ventilation, ductwork, piping, and associated mechanical plant.
- Act as the on-site point of contact between project management, design engineers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor construction progress, ensuring work is executed according to drawings, technical specifications, and project schedule.
- Perform quality inspections and sign-off on completed work packages.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical/HVAC systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Coordinate with electrical and civil disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure smooth integration.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily logs, and progress reports.
- Assist in problem-solving and resolving technical issues with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Support change control processes, assessing the impact of variations and managing approvals.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC supervision for mission-critical facilities (data centers, hospitals, labs, etc.) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, piping, and ducting.
- Familiarity with German construction codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic project scheduling tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
