About the Role
Our major aerospace client is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to provide hands‑on support for Primary Structural repair activities on a regional aircraft platform. You will work closely with the design lead, who will coordinate and oversee day‑to‑day tasking within the repair support team. This is a fully onsite role requiring a strong background in aircraft structural repair design and airframe certification.
Key Responsibilities
You will support the engineering team with a broad range of repair design activities, including but not limited to:
- Creating and updating design solutions for Primary Structural repairs
- Integrating and referencing updates within the Structural Repair Manual (SRM)
- Supporting the application of standard aerospace manufacturing processes
- Reviewing and checking validation reports related to repairs
- Assessing and resolving structural‑related production non‑conformities (concessions).
Required Expertise
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 10+ years’ experience in design engineering for aircraft repairs
- Strong background in Primary Structural repair design
- Experience with airframe structural part/product certification
- Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced, onsite engineering environment
Ideal Candidate Profile
This position is suited to a senior design engineer with deep repair experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with production, stress, and certification teams. A meticulous approach and a strong understanding of airframe repair methodologies are essential.
