E&I Engineer · On-site

g2 is currently looking for an E&I Project Engineer to assist a client through the full EPC phases of multiple renewable energy projects.

This vacancy is open to both freelance and permanent (payroll) candidates. The aim is to have someone start by March 2nd, 2026.

  • START: March 2nd, 2026 (sooner is discussable)
  • LOCATION: South Holland, Netherlands
  • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Freelance (ZZP) OR Permanent
  • DURATION (if freelance): 12 months extendable contract
  • WORKING PATTERN: 40-50 hours per week. Fulltime onsite

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Automation Engineering. (MTS / HTS / BSc / MSc).
  • Experience with both Electrical and Instrumentation. This role is 50/50 split.
  • Industries experience including geothermal, geotechnical, chemical, oil & gas or mining.
  • Knowledge of low and high voltage: Valid NEN3140 / NEN3840 certificates.
  • Experience working on EPC projects through the full project life cycle – design, engineering, construction and commissioning / start-up.
  • Instrumentation knowledge: pressure, flow, temperature, transmitters SCADA (Siemens).
  • Electrical knowledge: frequency drives, switching, transformers, installations, commissioning.
  • ATEX certified / strong knowledge on this topic.
  • Fluency in English, Dutch is highly preferrable.

Specification:

  • Assisting with projects at different stages of the EPC cycle including design, engineering, construction, commissioning & start-up.
  • Working with cross-functional teams from the above project areas to deliver E&I packages in collaboration with onsite engineering contractors.
  • Working 70% in the field and 30% in the office. But fulltime onsite.
  • Supporting & guiding subcontractors / engineering companies onsite and reviewing, checking and amending their work for the projects.
  • Handling multiple E&I work packages at any one time, joining at different parts of the EPC projects to add your knowledge & skills to ensure they are delivered successfully.
  • Willingness to travel across South Holland & North Brabant for current and new projects as the client expands its operations in The Netherlands.

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
