Electrical Design Engineer · On-Site

G2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer for an immediate start on a major semiconductor facility project in Dresden, Germany.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the electrical design and engineering deliverables across a large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facility, working closely with the project and construction teams to ensure designs are delivered on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage electrical design packages including HV/LV systems, power distribution, lighting, and containment
  • Produce and review electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specification
  • Liaise with the client, main contractor, and subcontractors on all electrical design matters
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant German and European standards (DIN VDE, IEC)
  • Support the procurement process with technical input on equipment and materials
  • Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines to resolve clashes and design interfaces
  • Attend design review meetings and provide technical sign-off on deliverables
  • Support construction and commissioning teams with RFI responses and technical queries

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer on large-scale industrial, semiconductor, or mission-critical facility projects
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV power systems and power distribution design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or EPLAN
  • Familiarity with German/European electrical standards (DIN VDE, IEC 60364)
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary design environment
  • Fluent English essential; German advantageous
  • Available to mobilise immediately

Desirable:

  • Previous semiconductor, cleanroom, or pharmaceutical facility experience
  • Experience on EPC or design-and-build projects in Germany

Contract Details:

  • Location: Dresden, Germany
  • Duration: 12 months+
  • Rate: Dependent on experience
  • Start: ASAP

Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
