g2 Recruitment are currently supporting a major renewable energy infrastructure project in Germany and looking for an experienced Freelance Electrical Site Manager to join the team on-site for the construction and commissioning phase of a new high-voltage substation and transmission link.
This is a 12-month freelance contract with the potential for extension, offering €100+ per hour for the right candidate. You’ll play a key role in overseeing all on-site electrical works — managing installation teams, coordinating with EPC partners, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Project Overview:
The project involves the construction of a 220 kV onshore converter and grid connection system supporting Germany’s renewable energy expansion. The installation phase has just begun, so you’ll be joining at a critical time for delivery and execution.

Role: Freelance Electrical Site Manager
Location: Germany (on-site, travel covered)
Contract: 12 months (extension possible)
Rate: €100–€110 per hour (depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Language: German-speaking preferred, English accepted
Experience Required:
- Electrical site management on substation, HV, or renewable energy projects
- Strong knowledge of installation, commissioning, and QA/QC processes
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors
- Eligibility to freelance in Europe
