Engineering Director · Hybrid

g2 have a great opportunity with an exciting client in the Amsterdam area who are looking for an Engineering Director to join their growing team.

They are an equipment manufacturer specialising in the automotive, aviation and aerospace industries, supporting international projects with innovative, cutting edge technologies.

They are looking for candidates with team management experience, who have worked in either mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, or similar engineering disciplines, preferably in the above industries on equipment manufacturing projects.4

 

Engineering Director – Technical Engineering – Equipment Manufacturing – Team Management

Start Date: May, June, July 2026

Location: Amsterdam region, Netherlands

Salary: €9,000 - €10,500 per month + 8%

Package: Hybrid working, bonus scheme, company car, pension

 

Essential Skills:

· Engineering background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or similar

· Experience in equipment manufacturing and production projects

· Working history in Aviation, Automotive, Aerospace, or similar industries

· Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers

· Any experience within R&D/innovation beneficial

· Fluent English, and minimum B1 level Dutch required

The client are growing quickly at the moment with their workload increasing steadily for the remainder of this year, and you will play an important role in shaping the department and driving it forwards.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.

His role involves teaching the consultants that are new to the company the foundations of recruitment and our systems before then helping them to upskill in areas specific to each consultant. Working closely with different consultants and watching them implement the feedback, apply it, and then benefit off the back of it.
