Environmental Protection Officer · Hybrid

Role- Environmental Protection Officer

Location- North West

Duration- 6 months +, possible extension or temp-perm

Rate- £ dependent on experience

 

A client of ours working for a local authority is looking to hire an Interim Environmental Protection Officer, specializing in noise, nuisance, pollution control and planning applications. The role is initially for the next 6 months due to a number of outstanding service requests, and a gap in their team due to a long standing permanent vacancy, but extension may be possible.

The role is full-time, 37 hours per week, but part-time can also be considered for the right candidate. Hybrid working is standard within this local authority, so it is expected that the candidate placed will be on site a minimum of 3 days each week depending on the workload.

 

A successful candidate will have experience in:

  • Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Statutory nuisance investigations
  • Noise complaint management
  • Pollution control and enforcement
  • Environmental Health or Environmental Protection within a local authority
  • Environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Planning consultations and reviewing planning applications
  • Private water supplies

 

Interviews are to be held within the next week and ideally the candidate will need to start asap.

Academy:
Week 1 is a series of remote sessions to learn all things systems, followed by a 1 week academy process which is a mixture of classroom and deskside this will be in one of our UK offices and usually consists of 3-8 other consultants all starting their journey together.

Experienced Modules:
These are a variety of sessions curated by us designed to support consultants as they are progressing through the career ladder, the aim is to ensure consultants at all levels have access to L&D.

Junior Management Programme:
Ran by our head of L&D this programme is designed to support junior managers as they start their management career. This involves things like personal branding, time management and ends in a business plan which is presented to members of the Exec board and senior management team.
